What free equation editing for Google Docs means right now
The website tools can be used without a website account, but the direct Google Docs extension is not publicly available. This page will not pretend that an unreleased add-on can already be installed.
- Use Quick Convert for image-based equations and copy the reviewed result.
- Use Editor when you want explanations and equations together before moving them into Docs.
- The future add-on requires a Google account and permission for the currently open file.
- Public availability can change only after Google review and release work are complete.

Before you begin
- Can I install the ithrion AI Google Docs extension now?
- No. The add-on is in private beta and does not yet have a public Google Workspace Marketplace listing.
- Is the extension real or only a mockup?
- It is a working codebase with a real Apps Script sidebar and Docs and Slides services. Public release work is still unfinished.
- Can I still put ithrion AI equations into Google Docs?
- Yes. Use the available website tools, review the result, and copy the LaTeX or rendered equation into your document.
